Partnering for Healing and a Healthy Future.
It all started with one patient in 1979
Woodcreek Pediatrics - Mary Bridge Children's has served the families of East Pierce County since 1979 when its founder, Dr. Henry Reitzug, started practicing pediatric medicine in the Puyallup Valley. Initially located near the Washington State Fair Events Center, Dr. Reitzug’s practice rapidly outgrew the original office and in 1984 moved into the current Puyallup location. Dr. Mark Grubb was the first pediatrician to join Dr. Reitzug in 1987.
More pediatricians joined the practice and in 1990 the name Woodcreek Pediatrics was adopted. By the1990’s the community was growing beyond the boundaries of Puyallup to South Hill and Bonney Lake. To serve this expanding population, Woodcreek Pediatrics opened satellite offices on South Hill in 1997 and another in Bonney Lake in 1998.
In response to the busy lifestyles and demands of family life which often mandate non-traditional office hours, Convenience Care by Woodcreek – a walk-in urgent care clinic – was started in 2002. It was set up to accommodate the urgent medical needs of not only children, but their parents and adults in general.
To further meet the needs of Woodcreek patients, Woodcreek Behavioral Health was started in 2002 and is located in the Puyallup office.
In the fall of 2004, Woodcreek became the largest tenant in the brand new Sunrise Medical Campus – a 15-acre medical campus on South Hill. At our Sunrise location, we offer general Pediatrics, Convenience Care by Woodcreek, and expanded Allergy & Asthma services.
In the fall of 2011, Woodcreek Pediatrics’ Bonney Lake office moved to the brand new Bonney Lake Medical Office Building.
In 2017, Woodcreek began working with Mary Bridge to formalize a relationship several years in the making and on January 1, 2018 the company made its affiliation with Mary Bridge Children's official. Now known as Woodcreek Pediatrics - Mary Bridge Children's where our goal continues to be serving the greater Puyallup community with conveniently located, innovative, and excellent health care, responsive to the changing needs of families.
