Prescriptions and Refills Made Easy
Most of the time, prescription refills are easily performed by contacting our office and speaking with a phone nurse to start the request. For added convenience, sign in to YourAccess and submit your request 24/7.
Depending on the prescription and how your provider has prescribed the medication, you may be required to come in to the clinic for a Medication Check (also called a Med Check) appointment. During this visit, your provider will review how the medication has been working and determine the best course of action with you.
The "Med Check" Appointment
"Med Checks" are not the same as Well Child or Sick visits and most of the time cannot be combined with other types of visits. For specific questions, contact your provider via secure messaging or phone, or just ask us the next time you are in. It is highly recommended to schedule your "Med Check" 4-8 weeks in advance to help prevent running out of a prescription and to ensure the provider has an opening in their schedule.
The Parent/Guardian must call at least two (2) days prior to a refill
The parent/guardian must call our office at least two (2) days prior to when a refill is needed to allow time for verification, printing and signing of the prescription by the provider. Calls are accepted between 7:00 am and 5:00 pm Monday through Friday only.
Walk-in requests for refills are accepted, but be aware that the request will be processed if our nursing staff have adequate time to verify the patient's medication, dosage and to have the prescription printed and signed by the authorizing provider. A walk-in request may result in an extended wait-time.

Controlled Substance Refills
If you or your child has been prescribed controlled substances, your provider will have reviewed the following refill policy with you at the time of service. Please take a moment to review and familiarize yourself with this policy to ensure no difficulties are encountered.
Controlled Substance Refill Policy
We at Woodcreek Pediatrics - Mary Bridge Children's realize that refilling a controlled substance prescription can be challenging. We would like to do what we can to make this as efficient and easy process and help you avoid long waits in our offices.
There are very strict rules with regards to prescribing these medications and best-practice guidelines to assure that we are monitoring all patients for best outcomes. We ask that you follow these guidelines so that we are in compliance with the FDA rules.
You have two options to request a controlled substance prescription refill. You may send a secure message through the patient portal "YourAccess" by selecting "Refill My Controlled Substance Medication" under the Requests tab, or call 253-848-8797 option "4", then option "2".
For either method you will need to verify the following information:
We will make every effort to have the prescription ready by the desired date and time if it has been scheduled to allow for the needs processing time.
Please note that if a patient has not been seen for a medication follow-up visit within the time range required by the provider, then no further medication will be prescribed until that patient has been seen. Additionally, if your child is not current on annual well child examinations, you will be advised to schedule a separate well child examination.
No refills will be provided for lost prescriptions. Unfortunately, these medications have potential for abuse and street value. Consequently, great care should be taken to assure that all prescribed medications are protected and not lost or misused.
Please note that medication check appointments are in high demand, therefore it is necessary to schedule this type of appointment 4-8 weeks in advance.
